FDSC 31001 — Principles of Food Processing Lab

The course is designed as an overview of the unit, food processing operations common to all types of food processing plants. The course will provide students with hands-on experiences of food processing principles as well as visits to local food processing facilities. The laboratory sessions will encompass hands-on experience in operating retorts, dryers, grinders, blanchers, extruders, centrifuges, membrane filters, texture analyzers, and rheometers. Corequisite: FDSC 31003 . Prerequisite: CHEM 14203 , CHEM 14201 and ( MATH 22003 or MATH 24004 ). (Typically offered: Fall)
