HIS155 — History of Latin America I
Students will study the growth and development of Latin America from its pre-colonial history to the present day. Special emphasis will be placed on the success and failure of democratic procedures and the relationship between Latin America and the United States. The influences of first peoples, African slaves, the Roman Catholic Church, the military and economics on the development of society and the governement will also be explored.
