Economics is essential for the understanding of our society. It is the study of how we make choices as individuals and as a society. This study of choices concerns decisions such as what we consume in our everyday lives, how we produce a variety of goods or services, and to whom we distribute these products. In pursuing the Associate of Arts in Economics for Transfer (AA-T) degree, students will learn to use theoretical models and empirical evidence to explain the behavior of individuals, firms, and nations insofar as it relates to the core elements of an economy -consumption, production, and distribution.
