However, in order to provide potential students with flexibility in meeting their requirements, courses may be offered during different semesters than indicated. Nail Technology Award: Certificate in Nail Technology Credit Hours Required for Graduation: 18 The curriculum for this certificate is designed to teach basic nail care, various nail additions, repair wraps, sanitation procedures, and basic salon management practices. Admission into this program requires a high school diploma or GED and qualifying scores on SAT, ACT, or the Next Generation ACCUPLACER placement test. Upon successful completion of all program coursework below, students will have accumulated the minimum 300 clock hours required by the South Carolina Board of Cosmetology to become eligible to test for licensure as a nail technician.
