Driver-Operator-Pumper Certification
The Driver/Operator - Pumper course is a Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP)-approved certification program designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to safely drive and operate a fire pumper apparatus under both emergency and non-emergency conditions. The course aligns with NFPA 1002, Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications. During the course, students engage in both classroom lectures and practical, hands-on evolutions to master topics such as pump theory, hydraulics, relay pumping, drafting, foam operations, and fire apparatus maintenance.
