CIED 42103 — Math and Science for Young Children

This course prepares students to design and implement developmentally appropriate mathematics and science learning experiences for young children, including those with special needs. Emphasis is placed on creating supportive environments, integrating play, inquiry, and hands-on exploration, and fostering equitable practices that build on children's natural curiosity and strengths. Students will apply professional standards to plan curriculum, assess learning, and reflect on teaching practices while promoting holistic development across cognitive, physical, social, and emotional domains. This course includes a practicum component. Prerequisite: HDFS 24703 and HDFS 24701 . (Typically offered: Fall)
