ENGL 28383 3 CR. (3 LEC.) Introduction to Creative Writing This course is a workshop for serious writers and focuses on the craft of writing both fiction and poetry. The course begins with learning form and technique through the study of famous works. Students then work individually on their own stories, novels, or poems. This course is recommended for any student who enjoys writing as a creative form of expression. This course requires at least one paper using a documentation format. Introduction to Literature This is an introductory, college-level course that aims to expose students to the skills required to read, analyze, and write about literature. Students will read texts from a variety of genres and cultural backgrounds. An emphasis on form, technique, perspective, historical and social contexts, and cultural significance can be expected.
