PHYS4321 — Analytical Mechanics I

An intermediate course in mechanics which covers calculus-based treatments of rectilinear motion of a particle, oscillations, motion in three dimensions, gravitation and central force problems, dynamics of system of particles, motion of rigid bodies, Lagrangian mechanics, and Hamiltonian formulation. Lecture: 3 hours lecture per week.

Prerequisites: PHYS2310, PHYS3310, PHYS4311
