PSY 207 — Health Psychology # â
Theory and research on the relationship between physical, mental, and emotional health. Emphasis on behavior and cognitive processes the biopsychosocial factors related to the maintenance, prevention, and treatment of health condition and illness. Incorporates the impact of personal lifestyle behaviors and psychological interventions on wellness, physical health,the interpersonal processes involved in providing health care, self-efficacy and the emerging role of behavioral medicine in health care. Topics include: health promotion, stress, pain management, substance abuse, adherence, and mental and physical illnesses, exercise and eating psychology, pregnancy, and raising psychology healthy children.
