CJA 181 — Juvenile Delinquency & Law â
An overview and analysis and historical development of the concepts of delinquency and the juvenile justice system. Study the extent to which delinquency affects society, and the nature and processes of the adjudication, treatment and punishment of juvenile offenders. Foundational theories of criminal behavior and other factors associated with the juvenile offender, as well as the legal aspects of the juvenile justice system and society’s reaction to juvenile behavior and problems. Interaction among the police, judiciary, and corrections are examined within the context of cultural influences. Introduces sociological and criminological theoretical perspectives of crime causation and control.
