MUSX 3100 — Community Jazz Band
TCC NE Community Jazz Band is a performance-based jazz ensemble which will meet one night per week for 2 hours during the fall and spring semesters. An emphasis on sight-reading and the preparation of jazz repertoire for campus and community concerts will be its primary objective. As a historical performance medium, it will concentrate on the various styles from the musical libraries of Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, and Maynard Ferguson. In addition, the music of modern-day composers/arrangers will be performed (i.e. Gordon Goodwin, Maria Schneider, etc.)
