EDUX 1014 — English Boot Camp
This course will prepare currently enrolled high school students with the academic readiness for critical reading and academic writing skills to successfully prepare for college entry assessments and college-intensive reading and writing courses. Using structured assignments and examples, students will focus on comprehension and analysis of literary texts, informational texts, argumentative texts, and paired passages. Additional focus will be on revising and editing sentences, paragraphs, and early drafts of essays. Essay writing will also emphasize purpose and focus, organization and structure, development and support, sentence variety and style, mechanical conventions, and critical thinking. Students cannot use this Adult Education course to fulfill degree requirements.
