The focus of this course is on the nursing needs of clients as they relate to childbearing and children. Experience in preventative, supportive, and therapeutic care is offered through clinical experience in the care of the child -bearing client/family, ne wborn, child, and adolescent. Family centered health concepts are emphasized, and community resources are utilized in providing for the optimum health of the family. The nursing process provides the basis for practice. Students are expected to adhere to the standards of nursing practice as set forth by the Illinois Nursing Act and Rules for Administration of the Illinois Nursing Act.
