This course examines and analyzes death and dying from the medical, cultural, social and spiritual perspectives. Discussions include definition of death, attitudes toward death, bioethical issues surrounding death, advance directives, organ and tissue dona tion, stages of dying, will to live, bereavement, suicide, death rites and rituals, euthanasia, Hospice, and near-death experiences.
