ED 201 — Introduction to Education 3 3 0
An introduction to teaching as a profession in the American Education system. This course offers a variety of perspectives on education including historical, philosophical, social, legal, and ethical issues in a diverse society. It includes organizational structure, school governance, and a 20 -hour school-based clinical experience. A grade of C or above must be earned for teacher certification. In accordance with Illinois State Board of Education certification rules, all candidates seeking teacher certifica tion are required by Spoon River College to obtain a grade of “C” or better in all directed general education courses, all core courses, and all courses in the option.
