DTT 201 — Introduction/Commercial Driver
Operation and Maintenance. 3 2 2 The first course in a certificate program designed to provide individuals training in preventative maintenance, DOT safety inspections, and safe operation of commercial motor vehicles. Successful completion of this certificate program will provide the student with the skills necessary for employment as a Preventive Maintenance Technician within the trucking industry. This course is an introduction to commercial vehicle maintenance, DOT vehicle inspections, and instruction for the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). The Illinois State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement will be guest speakers in this course and provide instruction in the proper method of performing a North American, Level I DOT Inspection in accordance with FMCSA standards #393 & #396.
