ENGL C1000 — ACADEMIC READING AND WRITING

Part 1: In this course, students receive instruction in academic reading and writing, including writing processes, effective use of language, analytical thinking, and the foundations of academic research. Part 2: The course emphasizes textual analysis, logical reasoning, information literacy, and source documentation. It includes at least two essays of 750 words or more, an analytical essay of 5-10 pages using outside sources documented according to MLA format, and practice with timed writing.
