The practicum will serve recent graduates of the Cook County Problem-Solving Courts (Veteran’s Court, Mental Health Court, and Drug Court) by preparing and filing petitions for expungement and petitions to seal for them. The course will also provide the opportunity for Pro Bono assistance to students primarily in the Career and Technical Education (“CTE”) programs with business formation. Finally, students will prepare to take the National Federation of Paralegal Associations Paralegal CORE Competency Exam (“PCCE”). This course is designed to give the student both theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of criminal expungement and business formation.
