<strong>THIS IS A NONCREDIT COURSE</strong> No prior knowledge of knitting is required. While learning the basics knitting techniques, learn to create a variety of practical projects. Although the course is taught on a basic level, it is open to anyone who would like to learn or review the formation of basic knit stitches, how to knit ?Continental Style,? how to form simple pattern stitches, read published knitting patterns and charts, finishing techniques, complete a sampler of several pattern swatches, and finish several small projects. For those students interested in improving their skills beyond the basics, the course maybe repeated on an advanced level. Students are required to have the following supplies the first night of class: light-colored (solid or variegated) yarn in worsted weight, a pair of size #8 knitting needles (preferably in a shorter length), scissors, steel yarn needle, and note-taking materials. A more detailed supply list will be provided during the first class session.
