ENGL 2236 — Modern & Contemporary
World Literature Prerequisites: ENGL 1101 or ENGL 101 This course is a survey of world literature from 1900 to present that focuses on written works from diverse cultures around the globe. Areas covered include Af- rica, Asia, The Caribbean, Europe, The Far East, The Middle East, North America, and South America. In addition to readings, discussions, and tests, students will write two research papers and give two presentations that demonstrate their ability to explain the importance of specific works and their cultural context, both ver- bally and in writing.
