ECED 2843 — TEACHING AND LEARNING FOR THE EXCEPTIONAL YOUNG CHILD
Prerequisite or Corequisite: EDUC 2033 or EDUC 2053. This course assists the student in developing an understanding and vision of how inclusion supports the learning of all young children. Participants will use knowledge of various special needs conditions to learn how to develop and adapt lessons and activities to meet the individual needs of the exceptional child and encourage family partnership in the process. Students will plan effective environments that support the cultural, social, cognitive, physical, and social needs of the young exceptional child in an inclusive setting. Managing classroom behavior and the importance of learning through play are important topics explored in this course. A minimum of 10 hours of observation are required .
