ENG101 — ENGLISH COMPOSITION I 3 cr

hrs. This course provides instruction and practice in the writing of at least four extended compositions and the development of rhetorical strategies, analytical and critical reading skills, and basic reference and docu- mentation skills in the composition process. English Composition I may include instruction and practice in library usage and information literacy. Prerequisite: ACT English score of 18 (ACT English score of 17 with ENG 099 Corequisite course), or an appropriate high school GPA and English IV grade, or an ACCUPLAC- ER WritePlacer score of 5 (ACCUPLACER WritePlac- er score of 4 with ENG 099 Corequisite course), or successful completion of ENR 098 (or ENR 094) with a grade “C” or higher.
