THTR 381 — SCRIPT ANALYSIS AND PLAYWRITING – 0 Units

Class Hours: 54 lecture total (when offered in the distance education format, hours will total 162) This course is an in-depth examination of the elements of the dramatic script. The course consists of four main areas of investigation: critiquing the script, playwrights, plotting and theatre conventions, and creating and analyzing motivated characters. This course will guide the student toward creating scripts and analyzing their problems and help them distinguish drama from the performed theatre, such as scenarios for action. This course may be offered in a distance education format. U UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS (UAS) UAS 10 UAS/DRONE FLIGHT MANEUVERS AND SAFETY – 1 Unit Grading: Pass/No Pass Option Class Hours : 9 lecture/27 lab total (when offered in the distance education format, hours will total 54) This course introduces students from multiple disciplines to basic flight maneuvers of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Students will have the opportunity to operate a drone in our Obstacle Course and earn a Basic UAS flight certification from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The course also covers safety, regulations, and drone registration. This class is part of the Shasta College UAS program that leads students towards the necessary hands -on skills and qualifications required for employment.
