ECE 172 — CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE SELF-CARE FOR EARLY
CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS– 1 Unit Grading: Pass/No Pass Option Advisory: ECE 170 and ECE 171 with a grade of C or higher Class Hours: 18 lecture total (when offered in the distance education format, hours will total 54) This course will provide tools and strategies to nurture ourselves and facilitate continued growth. Early childhood educators have very complex jobs; they work long days on their feet with constant demands on their energy and patience. This class will provide strategies to prevent the risk of burnout, compassion fatigue, and secondary trauma. This course may be taught in a distance education format.
