SWK 3143 - Child Maltreatment Theory SWK 3143 - Child Maltreatment Theory A focus on the understanding of theories and research in child maltreatment and the identification of individual and systems risk of protective factors related to child maltreatment. An examination of the types of child maltreatment and their effects on the emotional, social, and intellectual development of the child. Instruction will include lecture and class discussion. Analysis of individual and systems factors in child maltreatment case studies is required. As needed.
