PSYC31 — Introduction to Positive Psychology
Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC Grade Options: Letter Grade or Inc. Term Typically Every spring term Advisories: ENGL C1000 with a minimum grade of “C”. This introductory course explores the scientific study of human strengths and well-being through positive psychology. Students will investigate what it means to be “happy” and how to cultivate well-being in individuals, organizations, and communities. Covering key theories and research, the course delves into topics such as creativity, grit, flow, optimism, mindfulness, prosocial behavior, and positive relationships. By the end, students will gain practical life enhancement strategies and skills to foster resilience and enhance well-being in themselves and others. (CSU)
