CS55 — Discrete Structures for Computer Science

Units: 3 Hours: 54 hours LEC; 18 hours LAB Grade Options: Letter Grade Term Typically Every term Advisories: MATH 1 , MATH 38A , or MATH 39 with a grade of “C” or better. This course is an introduction to the discrete structures used in Computer Science with an emphasis on their applications. Topics covered include: functions, relations and sets; basic logic; proof techniques; basics of counting; graphs and trees; and discrete probability. (UC, CSU, C-ID COMP 152)

Prerequisites: CSP31A, CSP26A, MATH38A, MATH39, COMP152
