Semester Total 7 Total Semester Credit Hours in Program 15 Associate Degree Nursing (A45110) Course Description: The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care to clients and groups of clients throughout the lifespan in a variety of settings. Graduates of the Associate Degree Nursing program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) which is required for practice as a Registered Nurse (RN). Employment opportunities include hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, physician’s offices, industry, and community agencies. Approved by the NC Board of Nursing, the ADN program admits first time nursing students in the fall semester only. A maximum of 60 students may be enrolled in the program, which includes first and second level. To be considered for admission to the program, applicants must meet the admission requirements established by the College. Applicants must also meet those admission requirements established by the ADN program. ADN admission/selection is a competitive process, which is outlined in this document. Individuals who are interested in the Nursing Program or currently enrolled in pre-nursing courses are required to attend an information session detailing the admissions process.
