DHYG 211 - Dental Hygiene Seminar DHYG 211 - Dental Hygiene Seminar 2 Credit(s) This course presents professional dental hygiene topics from a historical, economic, legal/ethical, global, political, social, interdisciplinary and multicultural framework. Students will investigate current issues in the field of dental hygiene education, examine ethical and legal concerns in the practice of dental hygiene, and explore the accelerating need for access to care. Students will develop solutions which could be used to influence organizational, institutional, and governmental decisions impacting oral health care. Dental hygiene rules and regulations of the state’s dental practice act are examined with reference to the regulatory agencies, current legislation and making application for licensure. Students make preparation for acquisition of employment with the construction of a resume and practicing interview skills.
