3 credits · 3 hours

Group communication teaches students how to solve problems and make decisions imperative for successful social and professional group interactions. Students will develop a conceptual understanding of small group communication by applying rhetorical principles to public discourse in a variety of contexts. Group skills will be developed through experiential activities, and by constructing and delivering both informative and persuasive public presentations. Students will study theories and then practice the process of group interactions using critical thinking and team-building strategies to achieve group goals.
