MA103 — Healthcare Law and Ethics
Prerequiste: Acceptance into the Medical Assisting Certificate program (recommended) 1 lecture hour: 1 credit hour Healthcare Law and Ethics introduces students to the essential legal and ethical frameworks guiding healthcare practice. The course covers patients’ rights, HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, liability, accurate documentation, informed consent, and the proper handling of release of information. Students will develop a clear understanding of professional responsibilities and ethical decision-making in medical assisting, preparing them to provide safe, compliant, and patient-centered care in a variety of healthcare settings.
