FST201 — Arson Investigation

3 lectures per week: 3 hrs credit This course acquaints students with basic investigative techniques used in examining an arson case from its origin to a successful conclusion in the court system. It covers such topics as motives for arson, determining origin, scientific aids in investigation, interviews, statements, reports, interrogation, and presentation of the case in court. The course is of particular significance for firefighters, police, and insurance investigators.
