ELEC102 — Alternating Current, Polyphase Circuits and Transformers
2 hrs lectures; 2 hrs lab; 3 hrs credit This is a fundamental course in alternating current theory and analysis. Students will analyze circuits that include series and parallel configuration of resistance, inductance and capacitance. The analysis will include vector operations, complex impedance, phase angles, single- and three-phase representations, Delta and Wye circuits, measurements and power relationships. This course includes the study of the principles of transformer operation including load conditions, efficiency and testing.
