WELD1212 — Pipe Welding
This course is a comprehensive introduction to the welding of pipe using the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process. The learner will be instructed on 6-8inch schedule carbon steel pipe. The student will weld in accordance to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX in the following positions: 1G, 2G, 5G, and 6G using various electrodes. This course offers the student opportunity to develop the fundamental skills necessary to produce code quality welds on piping with development measured through destructive testing methods.
