ICA R110 — Intercollegiate Cross-Country-Men

This course provides student-athletes with the opportunity to develop advanced skills and the strategies in intercollegiate men’s cross country which will be applied to competitive situations. Student-athletes engaged in intercollegiate men’s cross country should expect to compete against other institutions, travel, and put in additional hours beyond the normal activity load. Content Area Example: Application of Training Principles Students learn and apply endurance-training concepts using examples that acknowledge diverse running backgrounds, fitness levels, and prior sport experience. Instruction supports equitable access to training knowledge for all student-athletes. Content Area Example: Human Performance & Health Impacts Course content addresses how conditioning, recovery, nutrition, and stress vary across individual student-athletes based on cultural, environmental, and socioeconomic factors. Students analyze what training methods best support them personally. Content Area Example: Effects of Physical Activity on Well-Being Students explore how cross-country participation influences physical and mental wellness and discuss how community, identity, and lived experience shape each runner’s athletic journey.
