THTR 2103 - Screenwriting I THTR 2103 - Screenwriting I Description This course is an introduction to screenwriting format, craft, and technique, with an emphasis on the fundamentals of storytelling. Students workshop multiple revisions of a short narrative script. The goal is to complete a polished script suitable for screenwriting competitions and production. Students can purchase script formatting software with the course and/or have access to multiple free online screenwriting format templates. To gain knowledge and exposure to different script formats, scriptwriting software/programs, screenwriting instructional materials, submission opportunities, and industry best practices. To practice writing individually and collaboratively with faculty and peer feedback. Learn how to complete and market your screenplay. To have the capability to identify various structures and genres of films and television, along with how they relate to screenwriting. General Education
