RAD2504 — Radiographic Procedures IV
4 Credits Radiographic Procedures IV provides instruction in the radiographic positioning of structures and organs of the human body and is a continuation of RAD 1803 Radiographic Procedures III . Positioning and instruction include contrast arthrography, myelography, and the genitourinary system. Advanced imaging for trauma, surgical, geriatric, and pediatric radiography are also discussed. The instruction will be supplemented with application in the laboratory setting and clinical education sites. (PLO 1) Demonstrate sterile technique for invasive radiologic procedures, including arthrography, myelography, and hysterosalpingography. (PLO 1) Identify medications and related medication information required for invasive procedures. (PLO 1) Evaluate the patient’s condition while collaborating with the trauma team to prioritize optimal patient care. (PLO 2, 3) Identify and apply best practices for age-specific examinations, including pediatric, geriatric, and patients with special needs, focusing on patient care considerations, relevant pathologies, and effective communication. (PLO 2, 3)
