AST1903 — Automotive AC/Heat

3 Credits Theory of refrigeration, the refrigeration cycle, and the basic components of a typical automotive refrigeration system will be introduced. The function of compressors, lines, expansion valves, orifice tubes, receiver dryers, condensers, evaporators, and the air distribution system will be covered. Service and maintenance procedures, basic shop safety, environmental concerns, and recycling of refrigerant are included. Course Availability: pring Semester Only Prerequisite: AST 1213 Basic Electrical , AST 1223 Automotive Maintenance or Instructor Approval Course Level
