Academic Division: Health Sciences Academic Discipline: State Tested Nurse Assistant Assistant Dean: Leesa Cox, MBA, PTA 1 Credit(s) A practical course in the care and handling of victims of common emergencies; i.e., transportation and household accidents, climate related emergencies. Areas include basic life support, victim assessment, shock, bleeding, bandaging, splinting, burns, poisoning, medical emergencies, rescue and moving victims, triage. Students who meet the examination requirements will receive both a Community First Aid and Safety card from the American Red Cross and Basic Life Support for Heath Care Provider Professional’s card from the American Heart Association. This course is a flex course and may not follow the regular College calendar. The scheduled dates and times vary throughout the year. The course is taught off campus.
