RESP1110 — Respiratory Care Equipment
Academic Division: Health Sciences Academic Discipline: Respiratory Care Assistant Dean: Leesa Cox, MBA, PTA 5 Credit(s) In this course students will learn techniques and procedures for providing basic respiratory care: assessment, communication, body mechanics, medical gas supply systems, oxygen therapy, special gas therapy, humidity and aerosol therapy, oxygen analysis, pulse oximetry, blenders, lung expansion therapy, bronchopulmonary hygiene (including coughing techniques), sterilization/infection control procedures, manual resuscitators, use of chest tubes, and basic pulmonary function testing.
