MAT 172 — Precalculus Trigonometry

3 2 4 Prerequisites: MAT 171 Corequisites: None This course is designed to develop an understanding of topics which are funda - mental to the study of Calculus. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of trigono - metric functions in multiple representations, right and oblique triangles, vectors, polar coordinates, conic sections, and parametric equations. Upon completion, Course Descriptions students should be able to select and use appropriate models and techniques for finding solutions to trigonometry-related problems with and without tech - nology. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA and ICAA as a general education course in Mathematics. This is a Universal General Education Transfer Component (UGETC) course.
