Laboratory exercises, field trips, and demonstrations illustrate the basic techniques of biotechnology, including fundamental concepts like the metric system, equipment safety, chemical nomenclature, states of matter, and solution concentrations. In the lab, students will exercise modern laboratory methods used in the biotechnology industry. Laboratory experiments are designed to familiarize the student with biotechnology techniques, including key concepts from general biology.
