ENGL- 20 — Survey of African American Literature
Description: A survey of African American literature from the early oral tradition to the present. Includes a comprehensive exposure to African American prose, poetry, and fiction and an introduction to the social, intellectual and artistic trends of African American culture and their relationship to contemporary literature. Students who have taken both ENG-21 and ENG-22 may not receive credit for ENG-20. 54.00 hours lecture. (Letter grade or Pass/No Pass option)
