Description: Meets the state and national accreditation requirements for an approved Dental Assistant Program. Provides specialized knowledge and skills to perform chairside dental assisting in an orthodontic practice. Includes didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction on dental sciences, pharmacology, dental materials, legal and ethical considerations, infection control, emergency management, and treatment planning as they relate to the orthodontic patient. 18.00 hours lecture and 54.00 hours laboratory.
