Student will demonstrate competency with vacuum collection devises; syringes; venipuncture and capillary skin puncture; butterfly needles; blood culture collection; and specimen collection on adults, children and infants. Emphasis is on infection prevention; patient identification; specimen labeling; quality assurance; proper specimen handling and processing, professionalism; ethics; and medical terminology.
