BIOSC 1 — Introduction to Microscopy

General survey of current microscopy technologies: Brightfield, epifluorescence, confocal, and electron microscopy; operation of software, specimen preparation, live-cell imaging technologies, artifacts and troubleshooting, and careers in microscopy; laboratory includes hands-on experience with brightfield and digital fluorescence microscopes, and image processing using specialized software.
