RADT10 — Intro to Radiologic Sciences
<b><font color="7A0018">Begins Fall 2025</b></font><br> Limitation on Enrollment: Enrollment in the Diagnostic Radiologic Technology Program; Student supplied criminal background and drug screening clearances; physical evaluation within the last 6 months; negative TB screening or chest x-ray report with the last 6 months; current inoculations; annual flu vaccination; current CPR. This course provides an overview of the foundations of radiography and the practitioner's role in the health care delivery system. Students will be oriented to the administrative structure of program, health science professions and career advancement, health care environment, cultural awareness in the radiologic sciences, ethics and the law, and regulatory agencies. The basic principles of radiation protection, patient care and pharmacology will also be presented. An overview of computer fundamentals, digital imaging, computer literacy, software applications, library use, time management, study skills and a mathematics review will be presented.
