MTH 115 — Precalculus Algebra and Trigonometry
Area III ) This course is a one -semester combination of Precalculus Algebra and Precalculus Trigonometry and covers the following topics: the algebra of functions (including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions), systems of equat ions and inequalities, quadratic inequalities, and the binomial theorem, as well as the study of trigonometric (circular functions) and inverse trigonometric functions, and incl udes extensive work with trigonometric identities and trigonometric equations, vectors, complex numbers, DeMoivre’s Theorem, and polar coordinates. Prerequisite: A grade of C or higher in MTH 100 and permission of the department chairperson. Student mus t have completed Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II in high school.
