BIO 220 — Microbiology
This course is an introduction to microorganisms: bacteria, fungi, protists, algae and viruses. Emphasis is placed on the role of microbes in health and disease. Topics covered include cell structure, culture techniques, genetics, immunology and genetic engineering. R, 11 (3 lecture hours and 2 laboratory hours) Note: Completion of or simultaneous enrollment in general chemistry is recommended.
Prerequisites: BIO 175, BIO 101, BIO 107, BIO 111
