MATH 138 - General Education Mathematics MATH 138 - General Education Mathematics (IAI: M1 904) Provides the opportunity for students to use mathematical reasoning to solve real-life problems and increase mathematical confidence through in-depth study of four topics. Emphasis will be placed on conceptual understanding, problem solving, and analysis rather than on routine mechanics. Technology, including calculators and computers, will be used when appropriate to support the learning process. Topics covered will consist of logic and set theory, modeling with functions, consumer mathematics, and counting techniques and probability. A graphing calculator is required for this course. Check with the College Bookstore or the Mathematics Department for recommended models. (PCS 1.1, 3 credit hours - 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
